Noor the Sea Witch
Handmade Sea Witch sculpture:
This is " Noor" and her story:
An Arabic name that means "light".
Noor lives on a desolate island that has a hazardous, rocky shoal just off the side of the island where Noor makes her home. Noor walks her beach at night, she loves how the moonlight dances on the water and how the night air feels upon her face. As she walks at night, she carries her lighted staff and if any ships get too close to the shoal, she uses her light as a beacon to warn it of the danger lying just below the water. When she's not using her light as a beacon, she lights her way along the beach to see what wonderful treasures have washed up onto her beach. Each sculpture is a unique mixed media work of art using fabrics, and natural elements collected from my local beach. She stands approx 24 inches tall. I use a fabric hardener product to produce the sculptured effect. This sculpture has been sealed with a wax-based varnish and she is able to be outside if you desire. Her lighted staff is solar powered and the light part is removable so that it can be charged by sunlight.
